.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns will be low across many areas of West
Central Texas, with recent rainfall aiding the green up of
grasses and vegetation.
However, areas that have missed out on the recent rainfall may
see locally elevated fire weather concerns this afternoon and
again on Friday afternoon. In these areas, afternoon humidity
values will fall to near 15% today and 20% on Friday. Winds will
increase into the 10 to 15 mph range with some higher gusts near
25 mph at the 20 foot level. In these areas, fire starts will be
possible although fire spread may remain somewhat limited.
More widespread rain chances will return to the area late
Saturday night into Monday. Temperatures will cool, humidity
values will be higher, and the fire potential will be smaller.
