...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM MDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...San Juan County in southeastern Utah...
  Southwestern Garfield County in southern Utah...
  Kane County in southern Utah...

* WHEN...Until 1215 PM MDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of normally dry washes, slot canyons, rivers,
  creeks, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring.
  Prolonged and widespread moderate to heavy rainfall will continue
  trough this evening. This coupled with near-saturated soils will
  allow flows to remain high across all waterways within the warned
  area, including all of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
  High flows are expected to continue within, but not limited to...
  the Paria River, Wahweep Creek, Warm Creek, Last Chance Creek,
  Croton Canyon, and the Escalante River Basin and tributaries. Many
  backcountry roads within this area are expected to become
  impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1154 AM MDT, Widespread flooding is already occurring in the
    warned area. A recent example is the Escalante River near
    Escalante reaching a new high flow for this event of 1660 cfs
    over the last hour. After reaching a peak of 2500 cfs on the
    Paria River last evening, flows have decreased but continue to
    run high and swift, and additional rises remain likely. Between 1
    and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
