.DISCUSSION...(This Afternoon Through Saturday)
Issued at 1119 AM MST Sun Nov 2 2025

Water vapor imagery shows an elongated trough axis across the
northern Rockies and embedded in this patter a weak shortwave is
pushing across the northern Plains. At the surface across western
SD and eastern WY, a weak front has pushed through the region and
brought gusty northerly winds. The strongest wind gusts have been
across the northwest corner of SD but wind gusts in the 40 mph
range have been observed across the foothills of the Black Hills.

As the front exits the region this evening the winds will diminish
a sum thus the Wind Advisory is progged to expire on time, Winds
will remain breezy with wind gusts in the 30 mph range expected.
Weak CAA behind the front won`t do much to drop temperatures
considerably across the area but high temperatures tomorrow will
be 10-15 degrees cooler than today. This pattern of mild and dry
will be common throughout the week with weak fronts pushing
through the region bringing slightly cooler temperatures and
breezy conditions behind these frontal passages. Models are still
indicating a deeper trough approaching the area by next weekend
that could bring more organized precipitation chances in the form
of valley rain showers and high elevation snow showers.

.AVIATION...(For the 18Z TAFS Through 18Z Monday)
Issued At 956 AM MST Sun Nov 2 2025

VFR conditions are expected through the TAF period. Gusty
northwest winds will develop behind a cold front, with wind gusts
increasing behind the front to 25-40 knots, strongest winds
across the northwest SD plains. Winds will taper off after 00-02z
