.DISCUSSION...Elevated southwesterly winds with peak gusts of
around 35 mph and relative humidity in the single digits to 20
percent range are expected across much of the area today.
Overnight recovery is poor, especially west of the Colorado
River. The combination of gusty winds and low humidity prompts
elevated fire weather concerns today and a Red Flag Warning has
been issued for sections of Clark, Lincoln, Esmeralda, and
southern Nye counties. Winds slowly decrease on Sunday and Monday,
but dry conditions and near normal temperatures will persist
through the rest of the week.
