...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 to
  3 inches above 6000 feet; 4 to 8 inches above 7000 feet; between 8
  to 16 inches above 8000 feet; up to 2 feet above 9500 feet.

* WHERE...White and Inyo Mountains, and Eastern Sierra Slopes.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM PST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on icy and snow packed roads with low visibility,
  particularly along State Route 168 to Aspendell and through
  Westgard Pass. Road closures are likely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

  3 inches above 7000 feet and between 3 and 6 inches above 8000
  feet.

* WHERE...Esmeralda and Central Nye County.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 10 PM PST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, particularly along State
  Route 266 through Lida Summit.

4 AM PST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and
  10 inches above 7000 feet; between 10 and 16 inches above 8000
  feet; between 16 and 24 inches above 9000 feet.

* WHERE...Sheep Range and Spring Mountains.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 AM PST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible,
  particularly along State Routes 156, 157, and 158.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will rise to near 8000 feet
  Tuesday before falling to around 6000 feet Wednesday morning.
  Therefore...rain or a rain-snow mix are expected across much of
  Kyle Canyon through the day Tuesday before transitioning to all
  snow by sunset.  Higher Elevation Lee Canyon will remain mostly
  snow.
