.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Monday...Most of the thunderstorms
today are expected across the foothills and Urban Corridor. Heavy
rain and small hail to accompany the stronger storms. The airmass
will remain moist through Monday with another round of
thunderstorms expected Monday afternoon.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday night through Friday...
The latest model guidance keeps more moisture in eastern Colorado on
Tuesday which will hold minimum relative humidity above 25
percent. This should keep fire weather conditions on the lower
side. Highs in the 90s and possibly even up to 100 will arrive
Wednesday and Thursday. Minimum relative humidity will drop to the
teens or even single digits across the plains and foothills.
Neither day looks particularly windy which should limit fire
weather conditions. Some afternoon showers could create much
gustier winds so that could pose a small threat. Cooler and
wetter weather is expected Friday and Saturday. Smoke dispersal
will be good or better across our forecast area through Thursday.
