...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN RAPIDES...
NORTHWESTERN EVANGELINE...NORTHEASTERN BEAUREGARD...SOUTHEASTERN
VERNON AND NORTHERN ALLEN PARISHES THROUGH 530 AM CDT...

At 459 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Hineston to near Longville. Movement was east
at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Oakdale, Oberlin, Glenmora, Elizabeth, Dry Creek, Sugartown,
Hineston, Pitkin, Mittie, Grant, Lecompte, Elmer, Allen Parish
Airport, Longville, Harmony, Fullerton, Leander, Cravens, Tulla, and
Calcasieu.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 65 and 74.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
