The areas affected include... Chesapeake Bay from Windmill Point to Little Creek VA... Entrance to the Chesapeake Bay including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel... James River from Jamestown to the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel... York River... At 922 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 nm south of White Stone Bridge to 8 nm northwest of Coleman Bridge to 13 nm northwest of Cobham Bay, moving southeast at 30 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...locally higher waves...and lightning strikes.
