.DISCUSSION...An area of high pressure will remain in place through at
least Thursday, allowing for dry conditions to be maintained
alongside a warming trend through Friday. Daytime high
temperatures are expected to increase by about 5 degrees tomorrow,
maxing out around 60 degrees for both Thursday and Friday. The
area of high pressure will depart the region by Thursday night,
with stronger winds expected to spread over the area on Friday. A
storm system will push into the area late in the weekend/ early
next week, bringing a potential round of precipitation and cooler
temperatures.
With the warmer temperatures expected through the remainder of
the week, estimated snowpack loss for elevations above 9000ft is
expected to reach 0.3-0.5 inches of snow water equivalent per day
through Friday, and 0.75-1.0 inch of snow water equivalent per day
for elevations below 9000ft. Increased snowmelt will lead to
increasing streamflows into the reservoir over the next few days.
