...River Statement For The Alabama River at Montgomery...

.Levels remain slightly elevated along the Alabama River at
Montgomery. Levels are forecast to remain steady near action stage
through Friday.


The Alabama River at Montgomery.
* At 7:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 26 feet.
* Action stage is 26 feet.
* Flood stage is 35 feet.
* Forecast...The river will fall to 25.8 feet just after midnight
  tonight. It will then rise to 26 feet tomorrow evening. It will
  fall to 24.1 feet early Monday morning. It will then rise to 25.6
  feet Tuesday morning. It will fall again and remain below flood
  stage.
* Impact...At 26 feet...Some flooding of low lying areas and
  secondary roads begins in the Montgomery area. Flooding of the
  golf course at Maxwell Air Force Base and portions of River Road
  occurs at stages around 30 feet and higher.


Another statement will be issued by Friday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
