...River Statement For The Black Warrior River...

Recent heavy rains have produced rises on the Black Warrior River.
However...levels are expected to remain below established flood
stages...and any overflow along the river should be of a minor nature.

The Black Warrior River At Oliver Lock and Dam.
 Latest stage:     121.1 feet at 9 PM Monday.
 Caution stage:    122.0 feet.
 Flood stage:      129.0 feet.
 Forecast:         Crest near 122.2 feet tomorrow morning
                   and then begin to fall.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later
statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected today and
tonight.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise these forecasts upward.

Another statement will be issued Tuesday morning...or sooner if
conditions warrant.
