...River Statement For The Tallapoosa River...

.Rain amounts across parts of east Alabama ended up lower than
forecast. Therefore, water rises along the Tallapoosa River at the
Tallapoosa Water Plant have been minimal. The river point is no
longer forecast to reach action stage.


The Tallapoosa River at The Tallapoosa Water Plant.
* At 8:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 7.1 feet.
* Action stage is 15.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to 12.0 feet early Monday morning
  and then begin a gradual fall.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Low areas near the junction with the Coosa
  River begin to overflow. Extensive flooding of low lying areas
  begins between US 231 and the river at stages of 15 to 25 feet.

This will be the final statement issued for this event.

statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected during the next
48 hours.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise these forecasts upward.
