This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Extreme to catastrophic Grassland Fire Danger categories are
expected across the region late this afternoon until early this
evening. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for all areas. For
further details, please refer to the Red Flag Warning that is in
effect until 8 PM CDT.

Winds from west southwest will slowly shift to the west and
northwest as the evening progresses. The sustained winds of 25 to
35 mph, with gusts to 45 mph are likely. For further details,
please refer to the Wind Advisory that is in effect until 7 PM CDT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

A Very high Grassland Fire Danger is possible for portions of
central Kansas for Sunday afternoon.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected for much of Sunday afternoon
through Monday. A few severe thunderstorms cannot be ruled out for
Sunday evening, especially for areas west of Interstate 135.
Elsewhere, strong thunderstorms are possible Sunday night. Large
hail up to quarter size and wind gusts to 60 mph are the main
concerns with the strongest storms.

A very high grassland fire is likely again on Monday and Thursday


Spotter activation is not anticipated tonight.
