Showers and thunderstorms are possible each day, particularly in the afternoons and evenings. Temperatures will be near to above normal for the week. && .NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... Isolated showers and thunderstorms have developed. These will continue into the evening hours before dissipating. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above normal with with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s today and lows tonight in the low 70s. && .SHORT TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/... A system will work through Saturday into Saturday night. There will be the potential for damaging winds and also the potential for localized flash flooding. Will continue to highlight these threats in the HWO. In addition heat index values will be in the middle to upper 90s on Saturday and continued mention of heat in the HWO as well. && .LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/... Surface cold front will shift east through the middle Ohio Valley on Sunday. Forcing along and ahead of the front will provide numerous showers and storms, with a focus toward central Ohio and northeast Kentucky during the afternoon and evening hours. Behind the front, mostly dry weather will follow early next week under the influence of weak high pressure. Mid-level ridging is likely to build over the Ohio Valley ahead of another trough over the northern tier of states for Wednesday and Thursday. Even with building heights (and associated heat concerns), increasing low-level moisture will provide some impetus for showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. Timing becomes less certain to close the period, so will continue to monitor for the best storm coverage Thursday into Friday. && .AVIATION /18Z FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be present this afternoon and into the early evening hours. Precipitation will then taper off. Limited any fog mention overnight to the river valley location of KLUK. VFR cu along with high clouds will be possible at times through the TAF period.
