The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas...
  Southwestern Butler County in south central Kansas...

* Until 715 AM CDT.

* At 117 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain which will cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain
  have already fallen. An additional 3 inches are possible in these
  areas the next 2 hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Wichita, Andover, Augusta, Park City, Valley Center, Bel Aire,
  Towanda, Benton, Downtown Wichita, Kechi, Eastborough, East
  Wichita, Northeast Wichita, Mcconnell Air Force Base, Santa Fe
  Lake, Augusta Municipal Airport, Jabara Airport and Oaklawn.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 1 and 22.
 Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 43 and 66.


Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding! Parts of the Wichita Metro Area are especially
prone to flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
