This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Southwest North
Carolina...East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

The recent heavy rains have produced a good deal of ponding of low
lying areas with some stream flooding, such as the Sequatchie
River. The rain will slowly end later this morning.

A cold front will move across the region early this morning quickly
dropping temperatures. The Plateau, parts of southwest Virginia,
and far east Tennessee Mountains will fall below freezing allowing
any water to freeze. Patchy areas of black ice are possible this
morning. The cold air will also allow the remaining light rain to
transition to light snow. Light snow accumulations up to 1/2 inch
are possible over the northern Plateau, parts of southwest Virginia,
and far east Tennessee Mountains.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

An arctic cold front will move across the Tennessee Valley and
southern Appalachians Monday Night and Tuesday. The precipitation
will likely begin as a mixture of rain and snow transitioning to
all snow Tuesday morning. Snow accumulations are possible with
this system even across the lower elevations.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated.
