Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
258 PM EST Sat Feb 16 2019

.DISCUSSION...Low-level moisture will remain high through Sunday,
as high pressure suppressed to the southeast and a nearby frontal
boundary continue drawing Atlantic air inland. Little or no rain
is expected this afternoon through Sunday morning. Areas of light
to occasionally moderate rain are forecast for Sunday afternoon
and evening ahead of another approaching frontal boundary.

Fog potential for tonight and Sunday night: Only patchy light fog
is expected each night, with cloudiness and weak mixing occurring.

Surface winds Sunday will be from the east-northeast less than
5 mph after daybreak, then become east-southeast by afternoon.
Transport winds will become southeast 5 to 10 mph by late morning,
then becoming south-southeast during the afternoon.

Drier weather will briefly return Monday with high pressure building
down from the Midwest. Increased atmospheric moisture from the Gulf
of Mexico will then support periods of showers Tuesday through the
remainder of the week.
