Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
242 PM EDT Tue Apr 16 2024

.DISCUSSION...A strengthening system to our north will bring a few
isolated light showers early Wednesday morning, mainly along the
NC-SC border corridor. Winds by Wednesday morning will shift and
strengthen out of the south-southwest with gusts up to 20 mph in
the afternoon. Low level moisture steadily begins to return with
southerly flow, so afternoon RH`s will be slightly higher than
the last few days. With the system to our north pushing east, winds
will turn west-southwesterly by Thursday morning, gusting only to
10-12 mph. Rain chances quickly increase for Friday as a slow
moving front nears the area with widespread light rain possible
in the afternoon. Dry air will be slow to return as the front will
not completely clear the area until early next week and rain
chances continue over the weekend.

Fog potential: Fog not expected tonight.
