Fire Weather Planning Forecast
for Northeast South Carolina and Southeast North Carolina
National Weather Service Wilmington NC
335 AM EDT Thu Apr 19 2018

.DISCUSSION...

Increased Fire Danger Today.
Brotak Wind Profile Conditions Today.

A tight surface pressure gradient ahead of a cold front today
will produce gusty Southwest winds that will slowly veer to the
West by early this afternoon. It`s during this afternoon that
gusty winds will combine with low relative humidity and create
increased risk for dangerous fire conditions.

The cold front will push across the inland area during the mid
to late afternoon hours and finally clearing the coast by or
during early this evening. High pressure centered over the
Great Lakes will follow and ridge across the area tonight
and Friday and likely persist thru much of the upcoming
weekend. A slow moving area of low pressure will approach from
the Gulf Coast States late Sunday and slowly move across
the region Monday thru Tuesday.

Wind profile analysis/fire control over flat terrain is Favorable.

Fog potential for tonight...None.
