042 FZUS61 KCLE 261956 GLFLE Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie National Weather Service Cleveland OH 356 PM EDT Thu Jun 26 2025 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A front wavers in vicinity of Lake Erie before sweeping northward as a warm front on Friday as a low of 29.80 inches drifts eastward across the northern Great Lakes. As the low tracks farther east toward southwestern Quebec, the trailing cold front will sweep southeastward across Lake Erie Friday night through Saturday morning and be followed by a weak ridge averaging 30.00 inches building from the northwest through Sunday. A warm front should sweep northeastward across Lake Erie Sunday night and be followed by an eastward cold front passage Monday night as a low of 29.70 inches moves east-northeastward across the northern Great Lakes region and toward southern Quebec. Behind the cold front, a ridge averaging 30.10 inches will build gradually from the north-central United States through this Tuesday.
