Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 AM EDT Thu Jun 18 2026

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EDT
THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered to numerous generally east-southeast moving showers and
lightning storms are forecast to develop this afternoon/evening, as
well as tomorrow afternoon/evening as the east coast sea breeze
pushes inland and converges with the west coast sea breeze, as well
as outflow from previous storms. The greatest chance for showers (40-
70%) and lightning storms are to the north of the Treasure Coast
today with a 20-40% chance over the Treasure Coast. Rain chances
then increase over the Treasure Coast on Friday and remain high
areawide into the weekend. There is the potential for a few strong
storms this afternoon/evening. Additionally, there is the potential
for severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening, mainly from
Brevard county northward.

Afternoon highs in the mid 90s are forecast this afternoon and
tomorrow afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11AM-7PM today
for heat index values up to 110F degrees. A Major HeatRisk with
small portions of the area in an Extreme HeatRisk exists tomorrow.
Remember to take extra precautions as this level of heat affects
anyone without adequate cooling and hydration. There is a Limited
Fire Weather Risk through at least Friday. No critical RH values are
expected. Dispersion values will be Very Good to Excellent today and
Generally Good to Very Good tomorrow.

Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
