...Twin Cities/Chanhassen, MN Radar (KMPX) Out of Service for a
Scheduled Major Upgrade...

The KMPX WSR-88D operated by the National Weather Service in
Chanhassen, MN, is out of service for technicians to perform a major
upgrade. A return to service is estimated for Thursday, September
19, but weather and equipment delays may push this date back as far
as Monday, September 30.

During the outage, data from adjacent NWS radars will be available
including: Duluth, MN (KDLH), La Crosse, WI (KARX), Des Moines, Iowa
(KDSM), Sioux Falls, SD (KFSD), Aberdeen, SD (KABR), Grand Forks, ND
(KMVX), and Duluth, MN (KDLH). To view this data online, please
visit radar.weather.gov. Additional C-band radar data over eastern
Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin will also be provided by the
FAA-operated MSP terminal Doppler radar (KMSP TDWR).
