.DISCUSSION...
Sustained winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 to 45 mph
will accompany the passage of a fast moving cold front this
afternoon. A band of light rain will accompany the front, but
amounts may be too light to prevent blowing dust or wet the
landscape enough to lower the threat of grass fires. Visibility
reductions in the Columbia Basin, Palouse and West Plains will be
possible during the strongest winds between 2 PM and 7 PM. Wetting
rains with this fast moving front will likely be limited to the
Cascade Crest and mountainous terrain of north Idaho. The weekend
through late next week looks dry with less wind.
