Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
241 PM PDT Tue Aug 16 2022

...HOT WITH LOW RH THROUGH THURSDAY...
...ELEVATED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORMS WEDNESDAY AND
THURSDAY CENTRAL OREGON AND CASCADE CREST...

.DISCUSSION...Monsoonal moisture transport around a strong upper-
level ridge will interact with a couple disturbances Wednesday and
Thursday to facilitate elevated shower and isolated dry thunderstorm
development, primarily for the Cascade crest and central Oregon.
Confidence in lightning is moderate at this time. Hot
temperatures and low RH, along with poor overnight recovery along
ridges, will persist through Thursday before a surge of marine air
helps moderate temperatures and humidity on Friday. Hot
temperatures are favored to moderate through the weekend.
