...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SCOTLAND AND SOUTHEASTERN
RICHMOND COUNTIES THROUGH 345 PM EDT...

At 300 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southeast of Hamlet, or 10 miles west of Laurinburg, moving
east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Laurinburg, Hamlet, Maxton, Gibson, East Laurinburg, and Laurel Hill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
