Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
230 PM EDT Fri Jun 18 2021

.DISCUSSION...The ridge of high pressure will begin to decay this evening
as a weak trough moves through tonight and Saturday, followed by a plume
of deep tropical moisture. Moisture and relative humidities
consequently rebound Saturday and some showers and thunderstorms are
possible in the afternoon, with winds gusting up to 20 mph from the
southwest. The remnants of the tropical system from the Gulf then move
in for Sunday with widespread heavy rain and gusty winds, expected to last
into Monday. A cold front then follows with more rain expected Tuesday.

Fog potential for tonight: With winds staying up, fog potential is low
tonight.
