THE SEPTEMBER THROUGH NOVEMBER FALL SEASON WAS NEAR NORMAL IN
TEMPERATURES AND MUCH WETTER THAN NORMAL AT THE GRAND FORKS
NWS/UNIVERSITY. THE MEAN TEMPERATURE OF 41.7 DEGREES WAS 1.3 DEGREES
BELOW NORMAL.

THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE SEASON OF 14.73 INCHES WAS 9.86
INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL. THIS WAS DUE MAINLY TO THUNDERSTORMS IN THE
SEPTEMBER TIME FRAME THAT DROPPED RECORD RAINFALLS. THE AMOUNT OF
RAINFALL FOR THE SEASON BROKE THE OLD RECORD OF 11.97 INCHES
PREVIOUSLY SET IN 2008.

TOTAL SNOWFALL PRECIPITATION FOR THE SEASON WAS ALSO WELL ABOVE
NORMAL. THE 17.7 INCHES WAS 10.6 INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL FOR THE
PERIOD AS TWO SIGNIFICANT SYSTEMS IMPACTED THE REGION. THE AMOUNT OF
SNOWFALL FOR THE SEASON RANKED AS THE TENTH HIGHEST AMOUNT. THE
RECORD FOR THE PERIOD IS 24.1 INCHES WHICH WAS SET IN 1958.

REMEMBER... THIS DATA IS PROVISIONAL AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE. THE
FINAL AND OFFICIAL RECORDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE NATIONAL
CENTERS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION (NCEI).
