.DISCUSSION...

A cold front has pushed east of the area. Skies are clearing out
rapidly behind the front with mostly sunny skies by afternoon.

A strong area of high pressure will begin building over the
region tonight into Thursday morning, bringing dry and chillier
conditions. However, low pressure will track across the southern
United States Thursday and off the Carolina coast Thursday night.
The northern edge of its precipitation shield may reach central
Virginia and southern Maryland.

High pressure will return Friday into the weekend. Temperatures
will moderate this weekend as this high moves offshore.
