...March 2020 was Warmer- and Wetter-than-Normal in Rochester MN...

During March 2020, the average temperature at Rochester International
Airport was 35.7F. This was 3.3F warmer than the 1981-2010 normal
of 32.4F. This tied 2007 for the 16th warmest March and it was
the warmest March since 2016 (38.5F - 8th warmest March). The warmest
March occurred in 2012 when the average temperature was 49.1F.

The average high was 42F. This was 1.5F warmer than the 1981-2010
normal of 40.5F.

The average low temperature was 29.3F. This was 5F warmer
than the 1981-2010 normal of 24.3F. This was the 8th warmest.
It was the warmest since 2016 when the average low temperature was
30.4F (4th warmest). The warmest average low temperature was back
in 2012 when the average was 39.5F.

The highest temperature for the month was 58F on the 30th.
The lowest temperature for the month was 18F on the 21st.

A total of 2.51 inches of precipitation. This amount was 0.63 drier
than the 1981-2010 normal of 1.88 inches. The greatest 24-hour
precipitation total was 0.68 inches on the 19th.

There was a total of 2 inches of snow. This was 6.7 inches below the
1981-2010 normal of 8.7 inches. This was tied with 1911 for the
11th lowest snow total in March. This was the least amount of
snow in a March since 2012 when just a trace of snow fell.
The least amount of March snowfall was none in 2010. The greatest
one-day snowfall total was 0.8 incheson 20th.
