...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WAYNE...NORTHEASTERN SAMPSON AND
SOUTHEASTERN JOHNSTON COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 612 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near La Grange to 15 miles west of Mount Olive.
Movement was northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Walnut Creek, Newton Grove, Seven Springs,
Mar-Mac, Brogden, Cliffs Of The Neuse State Park, Elroy, and
Grantham.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Dont wait until you see the first lightning flash before heading to
safety. Move indoors at the first sign of threatening skies or the
first sound of thunder. Deadly lightning strikes can occur well ahead
of an approaching storm, prior to the arrival of rain and wind. Make
sure that lightning is well away from your location before resuming
outdoor activity.
