Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Northern Indiana
611 AM EDT Fri Jul 30 2021

Issued at 308 AM EDT Fri Jul 30 2021

Cooler and less humid weather conditions are expected today through
early next week. There is a low chance for showers Saturday night
into Sunday.

.SHORT TERM...(Today and Tonight)
Issued at 308 AM EDT Fri Jul 30 2021

Low level northerly flow will continue to usher in drier/cooler air
today with sfc dewpoints falling into the mid-upper 50s. This will
keep waves up on Lake Michigan where a Beach Hazards Statement was
retained today. No sensible weather concerns otherwise as high
pressure gradually builds in under northwest flow aloft.

.LONG TERM...(Saturday through Thursday)
Issued at 308 AM EDT Fri Jul 30 2021

Models remain in good agreement on a nw flow convective complex
tracking southeast through central/southern IL and southern IN late
Friday night into Saturday. The main impact locally will likely be
some cloud debris, though cannot completely rule out a few showers
clipping White/Cass IN east to Grant IN Saturday morning. A mid
level shortwave does look to pinwheel through the Great Lakes region
later Saturday night into Sunday, with non-zero shower/storm chances
accompanying an associated cold front. Continued to hold these rain
chances in the 10-30 percent range given poor moisture quality.
Below normal temps and low humidity levels will persist otherwise
this weekend. Troughing does linger across the Eastern US into next
week with mainly dry conditions and below normal temperatures.

.AVIATION...(For the 12Z TAFS through 12Z Saturday Morning)
Issued at 611 AM EDT Fri Jul 30 2021

A dry/stable air mass will allow for VFR conditions to persist
through the TAF cycle. Northerly winds to near 10 knots today will
become light/variable tonight as high pressure builds in.

IN...Beach Hazards Statement through this evening for INZ003.

MI...Beach Hazards Statement through this evening for MIZ077.

LM...Small Craft Advisory until 2 PM EDT this afternoon for LMZ043-
