Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
250 PM MDT Sun Aug 9 2020

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Monday...The dry airmass will remain in
place over the forecast area through much of tonight. A weak upper
trough is expected to moves across Colorado overnight into Monday
morning. There will be a cold front associated with it for the plains
and lower foothills. Monday will have below normal temperatures
over these areas for a change. There will be an increase in moisture
behind the front, at least for the plains and foothills. There will
be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday afternoon,
mainly over the foothills.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday night through Friday...Expect only a
few showers over the east slopes Monday evening, otherwise dry.
Warmer and mainly dry for the rest of the week with just a slight
chance of a late day showers/storms over higher terrain areas
through the week. The exception will be a slight chance of a
stronger storm over the far eastern plains of Colorado late
Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Expect good to excellent smoke
dispersion on each afternoon from Tuesday and beyond.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
