Areas of Heavy Rain in the East; Prolonged Heavy Rain and Snowfall Event for the Northwest U.S.

A storm system crossing the eastern U.S. today will bring areas of heavy rain over West Virginia and northern Illinois. A prolonged atmospheric river event will continue to bring moderate to heavy rain to northern into central California through the Pacific Northwest with mountain snow in the Cascades and northern Rockies today into next week.
