Major flooding continues along several rivers in South Carolina

Major to moderate flooding along several rivers in South Carolina, resulting from last weekend's rain, will continue this weekend. Showers and thunderstorms are expected from eastern Georgia across the Carolinas Friday night into Saturday. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches, with locally heavier amounts, are possible. The new rainfall could slow the recession rate of current riverine flood levels.
