.SYNOPSIS...A dry pattern, featuring warm daytime temperatures and
daily southwest winds at 10 to 20 mph, will continue all week.

&&

.UPDATE...It was a warm afternoon across the region with numerous
locations recording their warmest temperatures so far this year.
Prescott reached 84 degrees, Winslow 91, Page 92, and Flagstaff
hit 76. Tuesday looks to be a degree or two warmer still. No big
changes expected any time soon. Forecasts are in good shape with
no updates needed this evening.

.PREV DISCUSSION /425 PM MST/...A weak ridge of high pressure is
beginning to build over the Great Basin and 4 Corners regions this
afternoon. This is the beginning of a prolonged dry and quiet
weather period for northern Arizona. It`s been quite some time
since we`ve seen such a quiet period.

The ridge will gradually build and slide eastward toward the
plains states over the coming days while a dry and generally zonal
flow continues over Arizona. The pattern remains more active to
our north with a couple more trough passages forecast later in the
week, having little impact on northern Arizona other than
fluctuating wind directions. Expect typical light breezes each day
to around 20 mph with a few gusts to 25-30 mph Wednesday.
Temperatures will be on the rise through the week with Flagstaff
nearing our first 80 degrees and the Verde Valley nearing the
first triple digit readings.

No significant changes are in the forecast through early next
week. An even stronger high pressure ridge is looking likely by
this time next week, meaning even warmer temperatures for early
June.
