Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
303 PM MDT Tue May 21 2024

.Discussion...

Scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some snow in the mountains,
will come to an end late this evening, with clearing skies overnight.
On Wednesday, only some isolated, weak storms are forecast for
the southeast mountains, with very light precipitation. For Thursday
into the holiday weekend, isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms will be possible each day over the mountains, and
a few storms could move across lower elevations Saturday and
Sunday. Winds on Thursday will strengthen, and a few locations
over the southeast mountains could approach critical fire weather
conditions in the afternoon. Temperatures will stay at or slightly
above average through the weekend into early next week.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will reach very good to excellent levels
both Wednesday and Thursday.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
