Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
109 AM MDT Wed Sep 18 2024

.Discussion...

Spotty near critical fire weather conditions will be possible
tomorrow, and on Friday, across parts of the eastern plains.

For today, it will be dry over the entire region with
temperatures running a few degrees above normal over most of the
district.

Thursday will be very similar to Wednesday, except temperatures
will be about 1 to 3 degrees warmer. The weather will continue
to be dry over the entire district.

For Friday it will be getting hot once again with temperatures
in the upper 80s to lower 90s across the plains and mid 70s
valleys. 20 foot winds will also begin to increase and humidity
values will drop. Spotty critical fire weather conditions are
expected over the plains on this day. Some showers will be
possible over the far southeast plains on this day.

The weather will become quite active over the region Saturday into
early Sunday as a Pacific storm moves directly across the district.
High mountain snow is likely and there is potential for widespread
rain showers over the remainder of the district. Thunderstorms will
be possible over the plains. It will be noticeably cooler on this
day.

For Sunday, the weather should start to dry out with cool
temperatures. Dry weather is expected early next week.

Smoke dispersion will be good or better across the district
tomorrow afternoon and Thursday afternoon.
