.DISCUSSION...

Search site and General Ely Forecast -

Calm winds and low temperatures in the mid-30s to start this
morning along with areas of denser fog. This fog should dissipate
within a couple hours after sunrise today. Sunny and dry
conditions are then expected for today and Thursday with the next
chance for showers and perhaps a thunderstorm arriving very late
Thursday evening into Friday as a weak cold front moves into
Minnesota. Rainfall amounts for Thursday through Friday will
generally be one-quarter inch or less. Low temperatures will be in
the upper-30s again tonight into early Thursday morning. Winds
today will be light out of the east to southeast at 5 to 10 mph
before turning southerly Thursday at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20
to 25 mph.

Ely Visibility and Ceilings -

Observations and webcams in the Ely area and up to the SAR site show
dense fog with VLIFR ceilings. Expect this fog/ceilings to lift
by around 8 AM this morning. Otherwise, VFR conditions are
expected to prevail until very late Thursday evening when some
scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm arrive with a weak
cold front. Skies turn sunny after the fog lifts this morning into
Tuesday.
