.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 251 AM EST Sat Nov 22 2025

A cold front was moving south across Indiana and Ohio early this
morning. Post-frontal light rain and patchy light fog were
clearing from the north as drier air was spreading in from
Michigan. Temperatures were falling into the 30s north of the
toll road. The readings over these north areas will fall below
freezing before daybreak; however, few if any weather related
traffic issues are expected. Highs today will be a little cooler
then yesterday but this relative warmth should still be slightly
above normal.

An upper level ridge will amplify over the Mississippi Valley
and Ohio Valley as a low pressure area develops over the High
Plains. This ridging will keep temperatures above to much above
normal through early next week. Highs will be in the 50s Sunday
through Tuesday. The low pressure area will move east late this
week and bring a rain and snow mix at times from Wednesday
afternoon through Saturday. BUFKIT/AWIPS (atmospheric profiles)
show a shallow cold layer developing Wednesday afternoon. The
colder air aloft that eventually reaches the area is relatively
shallow and just on the edge of the DGZ (dendritic growth zone).
All considered, precipitation amounts should be light and any
snowfall should be limited. The new WPC precipitation forecast
has 7 day amounts less than half an inch.
