582 FXUS64 KSJT 100628 AFDSJT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service San Angelo TX 1228 AM CST Mon Nov 10 2025 ...New SHORT TERM... .KEY MESSAGES... - A freeze is anticipated early this morning with lows mostly in the upper 20s to mid 30s. - Gusty south-southwest winds and low RHs Tuesday will lead to elevated fire weather conditions. && .SHORT TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 1220 AM CST Mon Nov 10 2025 Wide range of temperatures across West Central Texas early this morning, with the usual cold air drainage locations dropping as much as 10 degrees colder than other locations in the same county. This will continue through sunrise with multiple areas dropping to near or below freezing. Warm up will be rapid later this morning and have no issues with the model blend high temperatures this afternoon in the low to mid 60s. Surface high pressure shifts all the way east into the Lower Mississippi River Valley by sunrise Tuesday morning, with lee trough developing overnight. This will help keep wind speeds up with south winds increasing to 10 to 15 mph by morning. This will effectively keep temperatures much warmer with lows mainly in the 40s overnight. Readings will be a little bit colder across the Hill Country where temperatures will drop into the 30s before wind speeds start to increase. && .LONG TERM... (Tuesday night through next Monday) Issued at 953 PM CST Sun Nov 9 2025 High pressure across the western U.S. will continue moving east on Tuesday, which will leave mostly benign weather in place across our area. As this higher pressure develops overhead, we will see temperatures across the region increase and lead to highs in the 80s by the middle of this week. Overnight lows will be above freezing in the lower to middle 40s. Looking further ahead, the next potential disturbance could move across the area next weekend. An isolated rain shower or thunderstorm is a very low possibility (20%) at this time. In general, it seems that areas further to the east have the best odds of seeing this activity. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 953 PM CST Sun Nov 9 2025 VFR conditions will remain in place for the remainder of the TAF period. Expect light and variable winds across the region. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
