.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 1212 AM CST Wed Nov 12 2025

Very quiet in the short term. Weak upper level ridging builds into
the area through tonight, with surface lee trough continuing
across the Texas/New Mexico border. Continued south winds will
bring warmer temperatures to the area with some areas climbing
into the lower 80s this afternoon. Wind speeds remain high enough
tonight to keep mixing going and thus overnight lows from
bottoming out anywhere. Lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s
tonight, a little above normal.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday through Tuesday)
Issued at 1221 AM CST Wed Nov 12 2025

Very warm temperatures will continue through the weekend, with
record highs possible for both Abilene and San Angelo on Friday
and Saturday. Meanwhile, an upper level low is forecast to come
ashore across the southern California coast by Sunday. Models
continue to trend further north with this system keeping the best
dynamics well north of our area. As a result, rain chances
continue to diminish for the Sunday/Monday time frame. A second
upper level system may impact the region by the middle of next
week. However, there is considerable uncertainty in the eventual
strength and track of this system. Otherwise, we may see slightly
cooler temperatures by Tuesday as the upper ridge weakens.
