This hazardous weather outlook is for eastern Utah and western
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Southwest winds will increase across the area ahead of a strong
cold front and Pacific storm system set to move through the area
tonight. Critical fire weather conditions will occur across
southwest Colorado and the Paradox Valley. Showers and
thunderstorms will also develop this afternoon and continue this
evening with snow expected in the mountains this evening. The
northern and central Colorado mountains will be favored for
significant snowfall above 9000 feet.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Higher elevation snow will continue mainly across northwest
Colorado through Friday afternoon before drier air moves in
Friday evening behind the departing system. A ridge of high
pressure will move in for the weekend, leading to dry conditions
and warmer temperatures.

An unsettled and cooler pattern looks to take shape by the middle
of next week with increasing chances of precipitation.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed.
