This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...south
central...southwest and west central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Day 1 Discussion
----------------

A few thunderstorms are possible this evening in a region of
convergence extending near a line from Hill City to Garden City.
Any thunderstorms that form will be relatively short lived but may
produce gusty winds. Thunderstorms should weaken rapidly by
sunset. Relative humidities between 15 and 20 percent along with
southwest winds gusting to near 30 mph will result in active fire
behavior west of Highway 83.

Day 1 Hazards
-------------
* Lightning: Limited risk
* Non-thunderstorm wind: Limited risk
* Fire weather: Elevated risk

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Days 2-7 Discussion
-------------------

A cold front will move across western Kansas Saturday morning, and
scattered thunderstorms can be expected in south central Kansas
near the front Saturday afternoon. The front will weaken and begin
to lift back north as a warm front Sunday night and Monday.
Scattered thunderstorms can be expected Saturday night in south
central Kansas north of the front, but chances for thunderstorms
will increase Sunday night with an enhanced low level jet. Warm
and windy conditions Tuesday will result in active fire behavior. Another
cold front will move through western Kansas Tuesday night into
Wednesday, but thunderstorm chances with the front appear minimal
until it moves into central and eastern sections of the state.
