This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north-central and northeast
Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Hazardous travel is likely at times through early tonight as a
strong cold front brings mixed precipitation, snow, and the
potential for a flash freeze, to much of the area.

A change over from light rain or a wintry mix to snow should
slowly occur from north central to northeast Wisconsin this
afternoon into early this evening. The most steady and heaviest
snowfall will occur over north central Wisconsin where snow
accumulations of 2 to 6 inches are expected. The highest totals
are expected to fall across northwest Vilas county. Winter weather
advisories have been posted for areas northwest of a line from
Stevens Point to Florence.

The combination of wet pavement and temperatures falling below
freezing will cause untreated roads to become icy this afternoon
and evening, resulting in a flash freeze and potentially very
hazardous travel conditions for the evening commute.

Lake effect snow showers will bring minor additional accumulations
to Vilas county tonight into Friday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

The next widespread chance of snow is forecast to occur on Sunday
night into Monday. Several inches of snow are possible with this
system, which may lead to hazardous travel at times.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are encouraged to report any occurrences of freezing
drizzle or freezing rain, and snow accumulations over north
central Wisconsin today.
