.DISCUSSION...

Dry weather, sunny skies and warm temperatures will prevail today
with highs in the upper 80s. Mixing heights will rise quickly
today and reach above 4000ft by the afternoon. Winds will increase
with sustained values around 15-20mph and gusts around 25mph.
Minimum RH values will drop to around 34-36 percent. Clouds will
increase west to east after sunset with a line of thunderstorms
approaching NW Alabama by 12-1AM and be out of NE AL by 1PM
Thursday. A few storms in this line may become strong with
frequent lightning, small hail and gusty winds. Rainfall should be
widespread but only be a quarter to a half an inch on average is
expected with locally higher amounts likely. Surface winds will
remain elevated overnight and possibly gust to around 30mph until
the front passes through.

Skies will clear behind the front on Thursday with the rest of the
day remaining dry with temperatures in the middle 70s. Mixing
heights will stay high with afternoon heights above 3000ft. Winds
will decrease significantly and be less than 10mph on Thursday.
Minimum RH values will be higher than Wednesday, around 42-47
percent. With the lingering moisture from the rainfall, fog will
be a possibility Thursday night.

starting Friday afternoon and continuing through Saturday night.
Widespread thunderstorms are expected Sunday into Sunday night.

Red Flag Conditions are not expected through the next few days
although winds will be elevated today and tonight.
