At 228 PM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms mostly southwest of a Tulsa to Fort Smith
line. Showers were heaviest in Choctaw, Pushmataha and Pittsburg
counties in Oklahoma and was more widespread in southcentral
Oklahoma. The precipitation was in the Tulsa area. Movement was to
the northeast at around 20 mph. The average amount where it rained
last hour was around one tenth of an inch with maximum amounts of
one tenth to one quarter of an inch. Coverage, and intensity
increased during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late
this afternoon, mostly cloudy, a chance of showers and thunderstorms
with temperatures 75 to 78 degrees and south winds 5 to 15 mph.

one tenth to one quarter of an inch. Coverage, and intensity
increased during the last hour. The Fort Smith area forecast for
late this afternoon, mostly cloudy, a chance of showers and slight a
chance of thunderstorms with temperatures 72 to 79 degrees and south
winds 5 to 10 mph.
