At 842 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers mostly in northwest Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma south of
I44. Showers were heaviest in Cherokee, Latimer and Choctaw counties
in Oklahoma and was more widespread in northeast Texas and far
southwest Arkasas. The precipitation was in the Bentonville, Rogers
and Fayetteville area. Movement was to the northeast at greater than
40 mph. The average amount where it rained last hour was around one
tenth of an inch with maximum amounts of one quarter to one half of
an inch. Coverage and intensity decreased during the last hour. The
Tulsa area forecast for this morning, occasional showers and a
chance of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and temperatures 63 to
69 degrees along with south winds 5 to 15 mph.
