At 142 PM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms mostly southwest of a Tulsa to Fort Smith
line. Showers were heaviest in Pittsburg, Choctaw and Okfuskee
counties in Oklahoma and was more widespread in southcentral
Oklahoma. Movement was to the northeast at around 20 mph. The
average amount where it rained last hour was around one tenth of an
inch with maximum amounts of one quarter to one half of an inch.
Coverage, and intensity increased during the last hour. The Tulsa
area forecast for this afternoon, mostly cloudy, a chance of showers
and thunderstorms with temperatures 75 to 78 degrees and south winds
5 to 15 mph.
