TORNADO ABOUT 3 MILES EAST OF KNOX DALE IN JEFFERSON COUNTY.
SCATTERED HARD WOOD TREE DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED FROM JUST SOUTHWEST
OF THE INTERSECTION OF FULLER AND CENTER HILL ROADS...EXTENDING
SOUTHEAST ACROSS CENTER HILL ROAD...JUST WEST OF THE 244 STATE
GAME LANDS. NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED BY THE SURVEY TEAM
OR REPORTED IN THIS AREA.

SECOND TORNADO EXTENDING FROM 3 MILES SOUTHEAST OF KNOX DALE TO 1
MILE EAST OF ANITA...IN JEFFERSON COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA ON AUGUST 21
2014.

PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE OF A TORNADO WAS SUBMITTED TO THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE...TAKEN FROM NEAR THE COMMUNITY OF PANIC...NORTH
OF THE VILLAGE OF ANITA IN SOUTHEAST JEFFERSON COUNTY. A DAMAGE
SURVEY FURTHER CONFIRMED THAT A WEAK TORNADO PRODUCED INTERMITTENT
DAMAGE ALONG A NARROW 5 MILE DAMAGE PATH...BEGINNING NEAR THE
JUNCTION OF KNOX DALE-PANIC ROAD AND CENTER HILL ROAD...AND
CONTINUING TO THE SOUTHEAST TO NEAR THE JUNCTION OF GRAFFUS
AVENUE AND TROUT RUN ROAD...JUST EAST OF THE VILLAGE OF ANITA.
SCATTERED TREE DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED IN VERY ROUGH AND FORESTED TERRAIN
ALONG KNOX-DALE PANIC ROAD (OR STATE RT 2023). THREE TREES WERE
WHOLLY UPROOTED ALONG THE PATH...ALL IN AREAS WHERE SIGNIFICANT
FLOODING ALSO OCCURRED...THUS REDUCING THE WIND LOAD REQUIRED FOR
A FALL. NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED BY THE SURVEY TEAM OR
REPORTED.
