...MAJOR WINTER STORM POSSIBLE LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY
MORNING...

A STORM SYSTEM OVER THE WESTERN PACIFIC IS EXPECTED TO TAKE AIM ON
WESTERN WYOMING LATE IN THE WEEKEND WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR
SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL AND WIND. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO START SATURDAY
NIGHT AND POTENTIALLY BECOME HEAVY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE
THROUGH MONDAY MORNING. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 FEET ARE POSSIBLE
IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH 6 TO 12 INCHES ACROSS THE JACKSON VALLEY AND
LOWER ELEVATIONS OF YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK...4 TO 8 INCHES IN THE
SALT VALLEY. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM DURING THIS STORM WITH SOME
POTENTIAL THAT THE LOWER ELEVATIONS COULD SEE A RAIN SNOW MIXTURE
LATE SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. WINDS WILL ALSO BE ON THE INCREASE
DURING THIS STORM WITH WEST WIND OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 50 TO
60 MPH IN THE MOUNTAINS ALONG WITH 15 TO 25 MPH WIND WITH GUSTS TO 35
MPH ACROSS THE LOWER ELEVATIONS.

RIVER MOUNTAINS SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY. THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT
SNOWFALL AND WIND IS PROBABLE. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO START LATE
BY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...INTENSIFYING LATER SUNDAY AND CONTINUING
THROUGH MUCH OF THE DAY MONDAY. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OVER A FOOT ARE
POSSIBLE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE WIND RIVER MOUNTAINS...ESPECIALLY
ACROSS THE NORTHWEST HALF WITH 5 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE
ACROSS THE LOWER ELEVATIONS FROM PINEDALE TO BONDURANT.
