...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding of the Lampasas River is occurring.

* WHERE...Bell County along the Lampasas River upstream of
  Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding along the Lampasas River as well as smaller
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is
  ongoing. The river is moving swift and carrying a significant
  amount of debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - A river gauge near Ding Dong is currently at 33.19 feet, and
    rose nearly 25 feet this morning. The river will slowly rise
    for the next couple hours before falling quickly later in the
    afternoon.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Harker Heights, Stillhouse Hollow Lake, Ding Dong, Maxdale
    and Youngsport.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
