Detailed Forecast

Synopsis: A strong system is currently over the panhandle, with strong breezes to near gale force southeasterlies for many of the inner channel waters and Gale force winds for the western coast of southern Prince of Wales Island and Dixon Entrance. A strengthening low pressure will move up Chatham Strait and Lynn Canal overnight tonight, causing rapidly changing wind directions as it traverses northward. Strong southerlies are expected to be left in its wake.
