...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CAMERON...
SOUTHEASTERN JEFFERSON DAVIS...ACADIA AND WESTERN VERMILION PARISHES
THROUGH 1230 PM CDT...
At 1129 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Thornwell, or near Lake Arthur, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Crowley, Jennings, Rayne, Kaplan, Church Point, Lake Arthur, Iota,
Gueydan, Mermentau, Pecan Island, Klondike, Evangeline, Morse,
Mowata, Wright, Maxie, Egan, Branch, Lowry, and Richard.
This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 58 and
90.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
